Proven Results with "Hands On" Ice Sessions
It's been proven that the best type of learning is "hands on." Because so much of officiating is just getting out there and doing it, we want you to get the feel of how a referee should skate.
We'll show you the proper skating techniques, positioning, and all the basic mechanics of skating like an official, which, believe it or not, is different from that of a player. We also incorporate a power-skating session, to give you a very noticeable advantage while you're on the ice.
We focus on the things you don't get time to think about on the ice, like how to deal with intense situations and making that split second decision.
Our five hours of ice are designed to give you that extra edge you need - whether you are officiating Midget AAA or Novice.
Classroom Sessions to Inspire the Mind
Ever wondered what makes a referee tick! We have... and that's what we designed our classroom sessions around - finding out what's under the helmet of a hockey official.
Our open group format allows for new ideas to be shared and expressed, great discussions on conflict resolution, and techniques proven to work.
During the course of our classroom sessions, you will be treated to speeches from NHL, Semi-professional, and Jr. A guests, including coaches, players, and fellow referees. You'll come to understand how officials are viewed from every angle of the hockey world.
"My favorite part of the camp was the classroom sessions because the instructors were very open to questions and I learned more at this camp than the carding clinic I attended last year."
