It's been proven that the best type of learning is "hands on." Our five hours of ice are designed to give you that extra edge you need - whether you are officiating Midget AAA or Novice. Because so much of officiating is just getting out there and doing it, we want you to get the feel of how a referee should skate.
We'll show you the proper skating techniques, positioning, and all the basic mechanics of skating like an official, which, believe it or not, is different from that of a player. We also incorporate a power-skating session, to give you a very noticeable advantage while you're on the ice.
You'll see how little improvements will help your line change and fight procedures. The instructional staff will also fine tune your penalty calling procedure to give you the confidence to - MAKE THE RIGHT CALL!
Linesmen will benefit from a detailed look at the face-off procedure and how to properly drop a puck. You'll get to know all the secrets of working the line ,helpful tricks in making effective calls, and hints that even the pro's use to break up fights!
